Douglas WIlks had three photographs chosen to hang on the current Art on the Walls display located at the Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains, Montana.  One of the images seen here is titled “Iris and Montana Sunset.”  This image won a blue ribbon this year at the Sanders County Fair, which was held at the fairgrounds just outside of Plains.

Art on the Walls is a juried art show put on by the Sanders County Arts Council four times a year.  The art is from local artists within Sanders County, Montana.  Artwork is displayed and those pieces that are for sale by the artist remain on exhibit, reserved for the buyer to pick up at the end of the art show.  The money from the sale of the art is split with the Clark Fork Hospital auxiliary, Sanders County Art Council, and the artist.  The current Art on the Walls exhibit will remain on the lobby walls of the hospital until December 2013.

Have you ever wanted to photograph nature in a different way?  Do the various colors of the Iris and the sunset cause you to relax and think of very easy, calm moments?  Have you ever had your tripod set as low as possible and photographed things closer?  Do you agree that the image in this post is a blue ribbon award winning photograph?  Have you considered using your images to help other organizations?
